Stevie Wonder was one of the staunchest opponents of Apartheid South
Africa. He has caused great pain to many of his fans worldwide by his
decision to play in a benefit for the ‘Friends of the Israeli Defence
Force’ in LA on 6 December. Not only is Israel imposing its own apartheid
system on its Palestinian inhabitants, last week it announced plans
for a segregated apartheid bus service, but it was the last best
friend of white South Africa.
