As part of their wider move to withhold NGO employees’ work permits,
Israel is also denying work permits to people who want to teach at Palestinian
Universities. This consolidates the previous regime of disruption which
only allowed teachers 3 month contacts (if they were allowed in at all).
These contracts were, or were not, renewed capriciously – often before
the modules they were teaching had finished leaving the students in
mid air and with no credit for their work.
